OnePlus 5 3.5mm Jack Might Be Dead

Last updated on May 22nd, 2017 at 08:46 am EST

Another day, another OnePlus 5 leak. This time around we have some bad news. If the latest leaks are to be believed, OnePlus 5 3.5mm jack might be a dead bird.

What we have above is a real life picture of the upcoming OnePlus 5. We can see the speaker grills, and the charging port. What’s missing is the 3.5mm jack.

All OnePlus smartphones till date have the 3.5mm jack on the bottom of the smartphone. Did OnePlus decide to dump the 3.5mm jack or move it to the top. Our guess, they decided to dump it (because Apple did it too). Would you buy the OnePlus 5 if it’s without the 3.5mm jack? Let us know via comments below.

Update – 22 May 2017

OnePlus 5 3.5mm jack has been moved to the top of the smartphone. The same was revealed by Carl Pei on twitter.

Leaked OnePlus 5 Specs

OnePlus 5 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU and running Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. A 5.5 inch quad HD screen at a display resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, fingerprint sensor on the front.

We have multiple leaks on the camera front. A dual rear camera is confirmed by all the leaks, but the mega pixels are all over the place; from 23MP to 16MP. The front camera might come with dual shooters as well, but nothing is confirmed. Leaked sketches have suggested dual cameras on either side, but like we said nothing is confirmed as of now.

Battery capacity leaks have suggested either a 3,600 mAh or a 4,000 mAh capacity, so we are not sure on this as well.

Recent reports have also suggested that OnePlus is looking to increase the price of OnePlus 5 to around $650; because they want to compete with the likes of Apple, Samsung etc.
