Huawei Honor 9 Set to Dump the 3.5mm Headphone Port

Last updated on May 11th, 2017 at 05:35 pm EST

Renders of Huawei Honor 9 (in black) from various angles have leaked online, giving us a good look at the device. On top we have the noise canceling mic and what looks like the sim ejector hole. At the bottom we have a USB Type C port, with grills on either side. What’s missing? Yeah peeps, the 3.5mm headphone port has been dumped by Huawei as well. You can blame Apple for this new trend, which has been followed by HTC as well.

The front and back of Huawei Honor 9 looks like the Honor 8, on the back we have a dual camera setup with a led flash. The front however, is a bit different. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the front on the Huawei Honor 9.

No word on the price, release date or specifications. What’s your take on everyone following Apple and ditching the 3.5mm headphone port? Let us know via comments below.
