The Blu R1 Plus is a budget phone from Blu which was announced yesterday. The phone is priced at $160 but is already on sale at Amazon and Best Buy for $110, that $50 off the retail price.
Blu R1 Plus has a Gorilla Glass 3 5.5-inch 1280×720 display, powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor, with 3GB of RAM, and a 32GB of storage and a microSD slot. It has a 4000mAh battery which should insure not having to charge the phone during the day, BLU claims a standby time of 30 days.
Coming to the cameras, we have a 13MP on the back (1080p at 30fps) and a8MP with LED flash on the front.
The BLU R1 Plus is GSM unlocked and has support for LTE bands 2, 4, 7, 12, and 17, so it will get 4G LTE on both AT&T and T-Mobile. Gray is the only color option you have, but do not the body is made out of aluminum.
The only downside to the Blu R1 Plus is that it runs Android Marshmallow out the box (Nougat update is planned) and no Wi-fi calling.
To Buy or Not
In my opinion, for $110 it’s a no brainer if you are looking for a budget Android phone. A decent 720p screen, with 3GB of RAM and micro sd support. A 4,000mah battery which should sail through the day and god enough cameras.
